ELKS MENS GOLF LOCAL RULES
ELKS MEN'S GOLF LOCAL RULES:
*All USGA Golf Rules apply with the exception of the following list of Elks Men's golf local rules.
OUT OF BOUND, or LOST BALL:
If a golfer hits a ball out of bounds, or the ball is lost, the golfer must re-tee or re-hit from where the ball was originally hit. NO DISTANCE RULE.
CLEAN AND PLACE:
If a ball is in the fairway or the fringe, and the ball is visible with mud, the golfer may mark and clean the ball. "The fringe is considered the first cut around the green."
DIRT OR UNUSUAL CONDITIONS IN THE FAIRWAY:
The ball may be placed in a grass area, no closer to the hole. This only applies if the dirt area is in the fairway and would usually be grass. Play as you would for ground under repair.
NO PRACTICE SHOTS ALLOWED IN THE FIELD OF PLAY:
If players violate this rule, they will be disqualified from the side pot money.
ALL PUTTS ARE TO BE COMPLETED IN THE HOLE:
(No Gimme allowed) If a player violates the rule, they will be disqualified from the side pot money for that day and future entries in the side pot.
GOLF COURSE RULES
LAKE HAVASU GOLF COURSE RULES:
Also see the back of the courses score card for golf course rules.
SAND TRAP :
The rule for a ball in a sand trap is called “ball in hand.” this allows a golfer to pick the ball up and use a foot or club, or rake to level the sand and replace the ball in the sand trap, no closer to the hole. There are now rakes for the trap. You may still use the "ball in hand" option.
The flag stick may be removed from the hole while putting. As per the USGA'S 2019 rule, you may leave the flag stick in while putting without penalty if you wish.
HOLE #2 ON THE EAST COURSE:
The fenced area and all the right side is an environmental hazard. It may be played as a lateral hazard at the point of entry or re-tee. If a ball is close to the fence, the golfer may take swing and stance relief plus one club length, no closer to the hole.
PUMP HOUSES AND BATHROOM:
A golfer may take swing and stance relief plus one club length only. There is no line of sight rule.
DECORATIVE ROCKS AND UNSTAKED TREE RULE:
Trees and rocks are part of the golf course. There is no free relief. Swing and stance relief plus one club length may be taken on
staked trees only.
There is no local rule for a sprinkler head near the green. Rule 24-2. This rule states, you are entitled to relief for a ball that is in or on the obstruction, or when the obstruction interferes with your area of intended stance or swing. However, Rule 24-2 does not grant relief for an obstruction that intervenes on your line of play when you are off the putting green.
Any questions will be answered at the March 23rd luncheon.
